The Many Faces of Milad: AI Wizard, Philosophical Gamer, and Devoted Dog Dad

Greetings, fellow humans (and any AI that might be crawling this page)! I'm Milad, a 31-year-old AI engineer with a brain that's part machine learning algorithm, part anime database, and part philosophical treatise. Oh, and let's not forget the part that's entirely devoted to my furry companion! Buckle up, because this bio is about to take you on a wild ride through the neural networks of my life!

The Professional Stuff (Where I Pretend to Adult)

Armed with 6 years of AI experience and a master's degree from the University of Tehran, I've been surfing the waves of artificial intelligence with the grace of a digital dolphin. My journey has taken me from the fintech jungles of Iran to the virtual shores of a Canadian company, proving that in the world of code, borders are just another variable to optimize.

Career Highlights:

1- Mellat Bank (Iran) - 3 years

- Evolved from Data Scientist to Lead Data Scientist faster than you can say "gradient descent"

- Became the AI whisperer in stakeholder meetings (turns out, speaking 'machine' is a valuable skill)

2- RIGID ROBOTICS (Canada) - 3 years (current)

- Turning signal time-series data into digital origami

- Living the WFH dream (my commute is measured in steps from bed to desk)

Feel free to check some of my achievements in the Projects section.

The Fun Stuff (Where My Inner Geek Runs Wild)

The Nerdy Origin Story

My coding journey began with a simple desire: to play Werewolf without a human moderator. One python-powered django website later, and voilà! We were lying to each other digitally, with code managing the chaos. This project was my "Hello World" to the programming universe, and I've been tumbling down the rabbit hole ever since.

Anime Obsession

When I'm not doing code-therapy, I'm probably lost in an anime world. "Attack on Titan" has me pondering the nature of freedom (while watching giant naked people), and "Code Geass" satisfies both my strategic mind and mecha fantasies. I’m also the guy everyone goes to for anime recommendations, just tell me a little about you and I will point you in the right direction! Also, If you ever want to debate sub vs. dub, I'm your person! (The answer is almost always sub though)

Speaking of anime, my two favorite characters say a lot about me (or so I've been told). There's Erwin Smith from Attack on Titan, the master strategist with eyebrows that could talk people into mass suicides. And then there's Lelouch from Code Geass, the chess master with a flair for the dramatic. What does this say about me? Well, apparently I have a thing for brilliant tacticians who would end the world for their loved ones.

Gaming Galore

Proud PC gamer here, with a rig I built that's probably smarter than me. Current digital playground? "Cyberpunk 2077". Because nothing says relaxation like a neon-drenched existential crisis after a day of coding! I’m also in love with Role playing games, as long as the role I’m playing is not the “Victim” (Looking at you sadistic souls-like game creators).

But wait, there's more! About a decade ago, I was crushing it in the Dota 2 scene, ranking among the top 1% of players. That's right, before I was teaching machines, I was schooling humans in the fine art of defense. In fact, one of my biggest achievements in life is staying sane after being in the dota community! These days, my APM (Actions Per Minute) is more focused on crushing bugs than creeps.

Board Game Maestro

In the spirit of socializing, Board Games are our go-to for when we want to know more about each other (or less, depending on the crowd). My true boardgame love is "The Bloody Inn". There's something delightfully twisted about running a murderous hotel that speaks to my dark sense of humor. If you ever need tips on how to efficiently dispose of virtual hotel guests, I'm your guy! (Disclaimer: All my murders are strictly cardboard-based)

Sports and Fitness

- Semi-professional Futsal player (a lot like soccer, but indoors and with more bruises)
- Casual gym-goer (gotta keep this machine learning machine in shape)
- Fast-paced: I sprinted 20 meters in 3 seconds! (Usain Bolt did it in 2.87)

Social Butterfly with a Twist

- Drink of choice: Gin and Tonic (because adulting is better with a hint of juniper)
- Known as the supportive but honest friend (I will help you debug your life, but dont expect me to sugarcoat the syntax errors)
- Not known for doing goofy things(despite my lame efforts). But I support any embarrassing actions my friends do until the point of getting canceled
- Been called an NPC on days without rest. Basically run on auto-pilot when my social battery is drained.

The Philosophical Plot Twist

Hold onto your neurons, because here's where it gets interesting. I'm a deterministic atheist who grew up in an Islamic country. Talk about a plot twist worthy of an anime! This background has given me a unique perspective on life, the universe, and everything (turns out, the answer isn't always 42, sometimes it's "woof")..

My analytical mind is both my superpower and my kryptonite. It's great for breaking down complex AI problems, but sometimes not so great at parties. ("No, really, let me explain the statistical improbability of that joke being funny...") But hey, in a world of chaos, sometimes you need a mind that can find patterns in the static.

Chess: The OG AI Battleground

Before I was battling AI stupidity, I was waging war on 64 squares. Chess prodigy? Check! (Pun intended.) I was crushing tournaments at 12, even snagging 2nd place nationally. Recently, I dusted off the old tactics and clawed my way back to the top 0.6% in the world (around 1900 rating) on chess.com:

Not bad for someone who now spends most of their time teaching computers to think, don't you think?

Elsa: The Cutest Debugger

No biography of mine would be complete without mentioning the true star of the show: Elsa, my 8-year-old white mix poodle. While I'm busy teaching machines to learn, Elsa's busy teaching me the importance of regular breaks, long playtime hours, and the frequent belly rubs. She's a constant reminder that while AI might be advancing by leaps and bounds, nothing can replace the simple joy of a wagging tail and a wet nose.

Elsa's not just a pet, she's my rubber duck debugger (though she prefers squeaky toys), my pair programming partner (her code is mostly in Barkscript), and my most loyal git commit message reviewer (she always approves, as long as treats are involved). She and I are so much alike in many ways. We both like people, but not for more than a day. We are indoor creatures and don't like going out everyday!

In Conclusion

So, there you have it! I'm a walking contradiction: an AI expert who loves analog board games, a deterministic thinker who enjoys the chaos of anime plots, and a former chess champion who now plays games with algorithms. Whether you need a machine learning solution, a philosophical debate partner, or someone to help you overthrow the robot overlords (or welcome them, I'm flexible), I'm your guy!
